Struan Mac Just sleep gets me every time! Beautiful and excellent lyrics. Saw the song live with just James and piano. Flippin amazing track.

theUtmost This guy is a freaking genius.
Album is a slow burner for sure, and definitely rewards the repeat listener.
The lyrics are subversively catchy, I find myself singing them at inappropriate moments all the time. Well done James! Favorite track: People Are Alright.

Whyte Rushan things may change over time as to what the best track is, but I heard the artist interviewed on totally wired on 95 BFM, it was very good, the host asked some probing questions, about what one does in an Office in Eden terrace, and thought about the tiny ruins, Favorite track: Everything's Minimal (With Tiny Ruins).

We said you were marriage material We were living on cereal in our flat by the bay No one would have said it was dignified It's a miracle no one died in a horrific way. You were all we had to live for Was never meant to be You were not a real woman But how were we to see? We could not keep from crying when we realised We were just another bunch of solitary guys. When you first disappeared we were overjoyed You'd not been letting us boys be boys And we'd just wanted to play But slowly it dawned that there was now nothing for us Might as well lie in front of a bus Hopeless in every way. Cos you were all we'd had to live for Was never meant to be Cos we were never real men But we could never see It was hard to keep from crying when we realised We were now forever to be solitary guys.

Look at these intimate moments Empathy, symmetry, beauty Tenderness you could not dream of in your house Such happy memories We cherish our holidays For we are one in our house Elegant magazine bookshelf, Monocle, Wallpaper, Kinfolk Kind of style you could but dream of in your house Everything's minimal (white on white) We're indivisible We are one in our house We can communicate (open hearts and open minds) We always celebrate being one in our house I met you, you mended my broken heart and now we lie, lie, lie! I know you, I know I feel safe with you because you lie, lie, lie!
3.
End of the night you were ready You looked a dull shade of deadly It's always strangely alluring When you're consumed by such fury With a knife you could gouge out my eyes With no eyes I could not look surprised But I would not be surprised Tip of your tongue there is paper Soon all our rage will be vapour We will dissolve into nature Living as one unique creature Oh the sun it could burn out tonight And the tourists might turn all to ice Smiles frozen goodbyes (Fall in...)
4.
A little hate today A little hate today A little hate today Is my kind of fun Don't be afraid to play with your adolescent rage some anonymous hate is what I live for Your kiss on the lip of a paper cup The cold chill you feel in an empty mall The warm light on the back of your eyelids glow You'll never know I'm in a negative phase Having a shitty day Feel the heat of my takes Going to have me some blood Dicks always to the fore Dicks always to the fore Dicks always to the fore Dicks always to the fore That's how life will be herein.

Nothing pleases me more Notifications at dawn That’s why I lie awake and roll on the floor Await that assonant roar That calls me gently gently down Into that sacred realm – communication! You got me in your sight The penetrating light of your needs. It’s a magic device That brings my friends in my life I’d surely die without those desperate words, Without those troublesome pearls That draw me slowly slowly down Into the darkened room of your confession You got me in the grip – bottom to the tip – Of your routine Everybody wants something

Cecily 02:06
Psychically I stare into your head See a slice of wholemeal bread This means you're hungry I predict the moment of your birth When you were washed up on the earth It is your birthday Cecily, I have telepathy It means I know where you'll be staying The games that you like playing And I predict you'll soon fall for me Cecily, I feel you wanting me I can see us married by the sea Having children two or three It will be blissful But I detect a changing in your eye It makes me feel like I might die It is confusing! Cecily, curse this clairvoyancy! It means I know that you'll dislike me And act in ways to spite me And I predict eventually Cecily, you will be leaving me.

People, they often have too much to drink, They feel the need to stand up and fight you. They get in your face and they ruin your day and everything's shit, so shit. People, they sometimes own SUV's, Feeling the need to drive like an arsehole, Filling parking space, with their German case of seven spoiled kids, spoiled kids. But people are alright. Not all of them are crude and mindless, Some are sweet and polite, Yeah people are alright. People, they will vote for autocrats, All of them claiming that they're the unlucky ones With their flavoured vapes and their racial hate, Looking so cut, so cut. But people are alright. Not everyone's a bloody tyrant, Some are actually quite nice, Yeah people are alright.
9.
A genuine concern The offer you made A lover in the harbour again A bridge across the sea A light in the dark A memory you lent to me. It's easy to believe in these if you try to erase yourself, It's no surprise that you could be someone else. On and on we walk into the suburbs, Houses like an army on the march. Got a Westfield tan, a phone plan, a smoothie And everything was right in the world. It's easy to make half a scream if your face is encased by plastic, I'd recommend a pedicure with me.

What'd you put in my heart that makes me howl at the moon? There must be some magnetic pull that holds us together. Put your hand on my lip Cos nothing good will pass it Just words of spit to make you sick Cos we're those kinds of lovers. I'm not enlightened, There was no Enlightenment We're living a nightmare So why I am I still here? Look at you old boys, Emitting that low noise It shouldn't be such a turn on But I'm as hard as hell What'd you put in my drink to make me put up with you? It must be some kind of superglue That keeps us together Put your hand on your hip Cos you know just how I tick And where to flick and how to pick me off in an instant. We should be mindful, I'm working on mindfulness We got us into a fine mess Now how do we get out? Just look at you dull bores Releasing your null roars It was never a turn on But I'm as hard as hell.
12.
Be still Be warm Ignore the storm Just close your eyes and soon you will be sleeping Let the day Slip away Just breathe deeply and soon you'll be asleep Forget what your teenaged son did to your car. Forget how at dinner you went way too far. Just sleep Just sleep Your shame will keep Just count to ten a few times then you'll sleep.
