about

Abstract:
Women, tired of our lame come-ons, have all decamped to some other star system where things are much better, leaving hetero men to pleasure themselves pathetically in disgusting student flats. Briefly, a woman appears and makes our protagonists fall hopelessly in love with her, but it turns out she is a replicant sent from the women's star system just to fuck with us.

lyrics

We said you were marriage material
We were living on cereal in our flat by the bay
No one would have said it was dignified
It's a miracle no one died in a horrific way.

You were all we had to live for
Was never meant to be
You were not a real woman
But how were we to see?
We could not keep from crying when we realised
We were just another bunch of solitary guys.

When you first disappeared we were overjoyed
You'd not been letting us boys be boys
And we'd just wanted to play
But slowly it dawned that there was now nothing for us
Might as well lie in front of a bus
Hopeless in every way.

Cos you were all we'd had to live for
Was never meant to be
Cos we were never real men
But we could never see
It was hard to keep from crying when we realised
We were now forever to be solitary guys.
